A Walden man was killed and his girlfriend was injured when their car slammed into a telephone pole in Montgomery yesterday, police say.
According to authorities, Anthony Votto, 23, was speeding when he lost control of his BMW on Lake Osiris Road. The car was sliced in half by the impact.
Votto's girlfriend, 19-year-old Sabrina Elbroody, survived the collision. She is listed in critical but stable condition.
The speed limit on Lake Osiris Road is 30 mph. Police say Votto was traveling at speeds double that amount.
