YONKERS - A shooting in Yonkers left one man dead and another man injured.

Another man who was standing nearby was also injured in the shooting.

Verna Berry, who worked with Saunders at the Greyston Bakery, says his killing may have stemmed from an altercation with members of a gang, Vatos Locos, or Crazy Dudes.

"He had a fight with them last week and he beat one of the boys up, and the other boy told him, you're a dead man," she says.

While police have not determined a motive, they do say it was not a random attack.

Police say the second man who was shot suffered only minor wounds and refused medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information on the shooting should contact Yonkers detectives at 377-7724.
