Two doctors from Spring Valley who went to Haiti on a relief mission returned home Tuesday and sat down with News 12 to share their stories.
Dr. Childebret St. Louis, of Ben Gilman Medical Center, recalled a woman he and his colleagues saved while on their week-long trip to Haiti following the earthquake.
Being of a Haitian descent, St. Louis says it devastated him to see his people in such despair.
Dr. Delatre Lolo, who also went on the mission, says the hardest part of the trip was performing countless amputations on children.
"I went there to help, but they provided me with how to get hope," Lolo says.
