Two men accused of dealing heroin pleaded not guilty in Newburgh City Court today.
Victor Rivas and Hector Davila, who are brothers-in-law, were among a dozen people nabbed in a narcotics sweep. The two were arrested Tuesday after police say they were found with 7 grams of heroin.
The sweep was part of a joint crime reduction effort between city of Newburgh police and the county, in what they say is considered a high crime area along Carpenter Avenue and Carter Street. The other suspects were arrested on possession charges.
Both Rivas and Davila are being held on $20,000 bail.
