2nd suspect arrested in Middletown motel murder
Police say they arrested a second suspect yesterday in connection to a deadly stabbing at a Middletown motel.
Abiecer Calderon, 33, of Middletown, is accused of killing 29-year-old Heriberto Ayala at Gino's Motel on Monhagen Avenue Monday night. One of Calderon's alleged accomplices, 32-year-old Ollie Dolson, of New Hampton, was arrested yesterday and pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge.
According to police, the men entered Ayala's room looking to rob him and then stabbed him to death. Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano says both suspects have spent time in jail on several charges, including robbery and assault.
Authorities are still searching for a third suspect in the murder and ask anyone with information to call the Middletown Police Department.
