A total of 33 Westchester students have been named as semifinalists in one of the country's biggest research competitions.

Byram Hills High School led the county with six students selected for the Regeneron Science Talent Search competition – that’s  30% of the senior class in the science research program.            

Their projects range from gene editing to energy conservation and regrowing bones.

The group is among 300 students nationwide to make it to the semifinal round of the annual competition.

Each student and their schools get $2,000 for making it this far.

Finalist scholars will be announced in two weeks.
