A 5-year-old boy has died from injuries he sustained in a two-car crash in Montgomery this morning.
Police say 37-year-old Kerri Kolan was driving on Albany Post Road just after 9 a.m. when it appears she somehow crossed the double-yellow line and collided with another vehicle.
Kolan refused medical attention on the scene. Her 5-year-old son, Andrew, was flown to Westchester Medical Center in critical, but stable condition, where he later died. Her 3-year-old son, Sean, was transported by ground to St. Luke's Hospital. The other driver, Crystal Nash, was taken to St. Francis Hospital.
State police shut down Albany Post Road between Route 17K and East Searsville Road until just after 1 p.m., but it has since reopened.
Officials say Kolan and her son Sean are expected to be OK.
Nash's family say the Port Jervis woman now has a broken back and will be in the intensive care unit for weeks.
