CORNWALL - A little boy died in Cornwall after a concrete pipe fell on his head.

Christian Martinizi, 6, was entering his house at 4 Clemence Drive through the garage with his mother and infant brother when police say a support column came loose and toppled onto him.

Police are calling the incident a freak accident. The family had been temporarily living at the house in Cornwall after their home was damaged by lightning earlier this year.

Martinizi was going into first grade at Willow Avenue Elementary School. It is the same school where his mother was a teacher.

The district is now arranging for grief counseling. Funeral arrangements for Christian have not yet been made public.
