Accused Tappan Zee Bridge climbers Grant Gilliam, James McCullagh plead not guilty to reckless endangerment, trespassing

GREENBURGH - Two photographers allegedly caught climbing the Tappan Zee Bridge appeared in court today.

Grant Gilliam, 27, and James McCullagh, 28, were arrested last Friday after state troopers say they found the men attempting to climb the bridge. Police say the two said they wanted to take nighttime pictures of traffic.

The men had apparently taken a cab from Queens to the bridge.

Lawyers for the pair entered not guilty pleas for charges of reckless endangerment and trespassing.

Gilliam is in the process of getting a new lawyer, so the arraignment was adjourned until June 17.
