Tenants at 690 Allerton Ave. say they have a trash problem that has been getting worse for years.
Residents in the building showed News 12 photos they claim were taken within the past week showing trash littered all over, including right next to the front door.
A person within building management says there are no issues at the building, and disputed that the photos provided were from their property.
They added that even if there was a trash issue, it was handled as of Tuesday.
The Department of Sanitation says in response to the situation, "690 Allerton Ave. in the Bronx has been cited with numerous violations by our Department's Enforcement Unit. In the last five years, they have received eight summonses for violations ranging from failure to store receptacles, to sidewalk obstruction. The last violation was issued earlier this month, Sept. 8, for uncovered receptacles."
More than a year ago, News 12 reported on trash problems at the same building. A building manager initially declined to comment, reached out and had the garbage removed by nightfall.
As of Tuesday, not much trash was outside the building, but tenants worry the problem will pile up again.
