Animals rescued from home on Heritage Lane in Chester after they were found living in deplorable conditions
CHESTER - Several animals were rescued this weekend from a home in Orange County.
Officials say six pets were removed from a home on Heritage Lane in Chester after they were found living in deplorable conditions.
Authorities say they found feces piled up a foot high on Saturday, and no signs of fresh water or food for the two dogs, two cats and two gerbils.

The pets are now being treated at a local humane society.
Officials say this isn't the first time they were called to the house for alleged mistreatment of animals. They say a 17-year-old girl was living there and taking care of the pets after her mother died less than two weeks ago.
