An audit from the state comptroller revealed Thursday that 133 dams across New York have serious safety deficiencies, including two in Orange County.The two Orange County dams cited are located in Beaver Dam Lake and the private gated village of Tuxedo Park. The comptroller?s audit is forcing action in at least one of the dams.Orange County officials are now moving forward with a plan to fix the dam at Beaver Dam Lake.County Executive Ed Diana said that money is already secured, and a design for repairs is in its second phase. ?As soon as the final design is complete (and) it's accepted by the State of New York, we will then take that funding stream and fix that dam once and for all,? said Diana.Plans for repairs in the second dam are unknown at this time. Calls to Tuxedo Park by News 12 Hudson Valley were not returned.
