A baby sitter in Port Jervis is being hailed as a hero after rescuing nine children from a burning house this week. Flames erupted at 91 Hammond St., forcing baby sitter Ashley Cosh to spring into action.

A baby sitter in Port Jervis is being hailed as a hero after rescuing nine children from a burning house this week.
Flames erupted at 91 Hammond St., forcing baby sitter Ashley Cosh to spring into action.
"I got all these kids and I'm trying to get them all out of the house and make sure I got them all," Cosh recalls.
The children, all under seven years of age, were put inside an ambulance to keep them warm. No one was injured.
Port Jervis Fire Coordinator Jim Rohner says it appears the two-alarm fire started inside a kitchen closet. It took 50 firefighters to put out the flames.
