Beating in New Rochelle parking lot leaves man dead

The victim was found unconscious and bleeding heavily in a CVS parking lot in New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE - A man who was found bleeding from the head and without a pulse in a New Rochelle parking lot has died.

New Rochelle police say the altercation happened at around midnight behind the CVS Pharmacy at 222 North Ave.

Witnesses say the victim and another man, both believed to be homeless, were drinking when they got into a fight with another group of men. During the fight, witnesses say the victim was hit over the head with a beer bottle and the suspect fled the scene.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
