So the debate is raging: “Who should fill Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s seat?” President Donald Trump says his pick will be coming very soon. "I will be putting forth a nominee next week. It will be a woman. It will be a woman."
President Trump has even released a short list of possible nominees, including Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a favorite among religious conservatives.
However, many are against putting forth a nominee before the election. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he would toss Trump's nominee if elected to office. “If I win this election, President Trump's nominee should be withdrawn and the new president should be the one who nominates Justice Ginsburg's successor."
Biden added that even if President Trump wins reelection, the Senate should wait until after election to go ahead with the president's pick. He said he will not release any names of his potential Supreme Court nominees before the election.
