A Hudson Valley teen who was paralyzed in a dirt bike accident is pushing forward and refusing to let the injury stop her from living out her dreams.
Jasmin Torres, of Bloomingburg, is thriving after returning home from rehab in September thanks to the support of her family, friends and her adaptive sports trainer, Faiz Ali.
Torres, 18, says she’s tried tennis and basketball and refuses to let her injury slow her down.
“I was always a sports person and then I found out you can still do sports, even in a wheelchair,” says Torres. “That especially kept me upbeat and moving and wanting to do stuff.”
Torres tells News 12 she’s training to get back into competitive sports.
Her advice to those who may struggle in any way is to never give up.
