For children like Trejah Brown, it's also a chance to remember how far she's come. Brown is just one of dozens of patients receiving treatment at Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla. At just 14 years old, she is a brain tumor, cancer and stroke survivor.
The teen, who loves to sing and has performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, says she's able to do the things she enjoys again because of her treatment at the hospital.
"I feel amazing. I feel like myself," Brown said.
Staff and volunteers say they're so full of joy to be able to see the kids be able to party and have fun after all of their hard work.
"To be able to come in and brighten the kids' day a little bit and be a part of this environment, I think is awesome and is really special to me," said volunteer Cat Cook.
