YORKTOWN - A final homecoming was held Thursday for a fallen soldier from Westchester who was killed in a training accident.

The body of U.S. Army Capt. Clayton Carpenter arrived at LaGuardia Airport where a a full military escort awaited to take the body to Yorktown.

Carpenter died a week ago when the Blackhawk helicopter he was piloting made a hard landing at an Army base outside of Savannah, Ga.

The 31-year-old was a graduate of West Point and Lakeland High School.

Wake services for Carpenter will be held Friday, followed by a funeral on Saturday.
