A 5-year-old disabled boy remains in critical condition tonight after being run over by a school bus yesterday.

Officials say it happened in the parking lot of the United Talmudial Academy in Kiryas Joel. They say the first-grader, who has Down syndrome, underwent emergency surgery overnight after suffering a fractured pelvis and back injuries.

Police say the bus driver has not been ticketed.
