Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. delivered his sixth State of the Borough address at Hostos Community College Friday.In the speech, Carrion announced his plans for 2007 and said the borough is headed in the right direction. Carrion stated that more residents are working and the borough?s unemployment rate dropped 50 percent in 2006.Carrion also called for a new approach to education, starting salary increases for police and firefighters, and help for war veterans.
