Bronx high school students volunteered with the Food Bank for NYC Friday to help out the less fortunate.
Ten students from the Expeditionary Learning High School ventured down to the Hunts Point Cooperative Market, where the Food Bank for NYC stores its supplies. The students helped organize food to be sent out to soup kitchens across the borough. Some of the volunteering students say it feels very good to help those in need during the holidays.
The Food Bank for NYC delivers food to more than 1,200 programs, such as soup kitchens and shelters, throughout the city.
