A big block party took over Brooklyn to celebrate Earth Day.
Residents came together this afternoon at Albee Square to enjoy the beautiful weather and welcome the arrival of spring.
The celebration was held by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a nonprofit organization that hosts community events throughout the year.
At the event, kids partook in dance lessons, got their faces painted, and were even able to plant seeds and learn how to care for plants.
A band named Bash The Trash performed at the event, where they used trash as musical instruments to raise awareness about the environment through music.
Organizers said that other events like fitness classes, cultural events and more will be held here in the future.
