Westchester County officials say the new state budget could be a drain on local industry.
"The New York State budget is a killer," says Elizabeth Felt, the Republican mayor of Larchmont. "It's a job killer. It's a killer for the taxpayers of the state."
Feld says Democrats in Albany should be cutting spending during the recession and is displeased by plans to raise taxes by $7 billion.
The state Assembly passed the $131.8 billion budget hammered out over the weekend, but state senators are not done voting because Sen. Ruth Hassell-Thompson has fallen ill and been taken to an Albany hospital twice since Tuesday.
