PEARL RIVER - Two now-former employees of a local school bus company are accused of leaving a sleeping child on a school bus.

On Feb. 7,  a 4-year-old boarded a Brega Transport school bus and headed to preschool at the Starting Place in Pearl River. The child fell asleep on the bus and was left unattended for 90 minutes.

Bus driver Gerard Mondesir and bus monitor Kettia Belotte didn't know the boy was left behind.

Both Mondesir and Belotte were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Mondesir pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was given a fine. Belotte is still waiting to appear in court.

News 12 has learned that Mondesir and Belotte were fired from the company.
