Tens of thousands of fans headed out to Mamaroneck Wednesday to watch the last day of practice rounds before the U.S. Open tees off.
Traffic could be much worse with all that travel, however, shuttle buses were provided to help the fans get to the Winged Foot Golf Club. Fans first headed out to a transportation center to leave their cars. Then they went through security and onto the buses. There are busing areas in Valhalla, Mamaroneck and the Bronx.
Travelers to the Open say the shuttle buses are convenient and very well organized. Once there, golf fans got to buy merchandise, get some autographs and, of course, watch their favorites play the game.
