Camera catches 3 men robbing liquor store
Three masked men held up and robbed a Middletown liquor store Monday night?and surveillance cameras caught the entire ordeal on tape.
The video shows three masked men entering Hudson Valley Wines and Liquors on Dolson Avenue right before the store?s closing time. All three men were armed with guns. There were two employees in the store at the time.
The tape shows the men pointing their guns and forcing one of the workers to open the register. Next, one of the robbers pulls something out of his pocket?police say it?s unclear if the item was a bag or a note. The robbers then take money from the register.
Instead of just leaving with the money, the video shows one of the robbers picking up a bottle of wine and throwing it at one of the store employees. The bottle bounces off the employee?s chest, hits the floor and shatters. The employee was not injured.
The employees say one of the worst parts of the robbery was cleaning up after the ordeal. They hope the video will help catch the robbers.
Middletown Police Lt. Patrick Freeman also hopes someone will recognize the men on tape and make a call. ?This could make or break a case,? he says. ?You can make an identification off of just what we have here.?
Anyone who has any information about the case is asked to call the Middletown Police Department at (845) 343-3151.
