Camera catches teen armed robbery suspects in Middletown
Two teenagers are under arrest Thursday after police say a surveillance camera caught the duo and another person holding up a convenience store at a Middletown gas station.
Police say the camera clearly shows someone in a hooded sweatshirt pointing a handgun at the clerk while two other armed suspects walk into a Valero Gas Station on Route 211 Monday. Police say the trio dumped loads of cash from the register into a backpack and stole a carton of cigarettes. Police arrested 15-year-old Shaun Van Dyke, of Middletown, and 17-year-old Jamul B. Green, of Newburgh, Tuesday. They say another suspect is still on the loose.
Police believe the trio is also responsible for robbing a Domino?s deliveryman just four hours earlier. They say the teens waited for the deliveryman at a house, pointed a gun at him and robbed him of his wallet, cash and pizzas. Middletown police recovered a pellet gun that was allegedly used in both robberies. They are still searching for two other guns along with the third suspect.
