A driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, sending his car through a fence and onto the Metro-North tracks

VALHALLA - Metro-North's Harlem line is running on schedule this morning after a car burst into flames on the tracks in Valhalla.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. yesterday on Cleveland Street, and caused delays on the evening commute.

Police tell News 12 a 63 year-old driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, sending his car through a fence before it burst into flames.

A group of onlookers were across the street and rushed to help get the man out of the car. They say the driver was shaken, but escaped unharmed.
