Car crashes into Greenwich firehouse, causes major damage

A car crashed into the Glenville Firehouse in Greenwich today, causing significant damage to the front of the building.
According to fire officials, the driver was coming down Riversville Road and had a medical issue that led them to strike the front of the firehouse.
Luckily, no firefighters were injured, but they were close by when the car hit the building.
"Our crews were actually about 10 feet away from the impact doing their morning check on the apparatus and came out and rendered care to the driver who was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Greenwich Hospital," says Deputy Chief Tom Nixon.
The area damaged was a lieutenant's office.
He’s being relocated to another part of the building until repairs can be made.
