YONKERS - Eighth graders from 24 Catholic elementary schools across Westchester welcomed Cardinal Timothy Dolan to their grade school graduation at Sacred Heart Church Wednesday morning.

The head of the New York Archdiocese made it clear that the sea of students was living proof that a Catholic education works.

The statement was music to the ears of educators like Archdiocese Superintendent Timothy McNiff, who says comfort is appreciated in a time where Catholic education is scrambling for scholarship funds.
