Police say they have arrested a woman after discovering three physically disabled men she was supposed to be taking care of living alone in deplorable conditions.

Authorities say when the men were found, the temperature inside the Hamptonburgh home was just 46 degrees. They say the men were left for weeks without food, water or proper bathroom facilities.

Officials say Vanessa Sortano owns the home and has been charged with endangering the men's welfare. They say Sortano was found at her Haverstraw home, where the men are registered to live and the only place Sortano is licensed to take care of them.

The state has revoked Sortano's license as a caregiver.
