A grocery store in Central Nyack has permanently shut down.

The Met Fresh Market located on Route 59 opened just last year, but a "failed inspection" sign hangs in the window.

It says the store didn't meet the proper safety and sanitation codes.

The store's owners claim they shut down because of poor sales, not because of a failed inspection.
