Chopper scours Stony Point and Harriman State Park for missing Pomona man Peretz Sontag

POMONA - Volunteers took off Thursday in a helicopter from Orange County in their continued search for missing Pomona man Peretz Sontag.

Sontag, a businessman and father of seven, was last seen leaving his home in Pomona Friday morning. Volunteers flew over Harriman State Park and Stony Point, areas where signals from his cellphone were last detected. The helicopter also flew over portions of the Catskills, an area often frequented by Sontag.

Other volunteers are searching throughout Orange and Rockland counties, as well as handing out fliers in the region.

The search is focused on looking for Sontag's car, which he was driving when he went missing. The car is a black 2012 Kia Optima sedan, with New York license plate number FZD-8413.
