The City of Beacon is welcoming a new fire chief.
Tom Lucchesi, who is from New Windsor, was sworn in April 10.
He’s taking over the department after his predecessor retired.
Lucchesi, 41, has 26 years of firefighting experience and is also an EMT and code enforcement officer.
He says he’s excited to now lead the Beacon Fire Department.
“I’m very honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to lead the city’s fire department. It’s a great place. Beacon has really put themselves on the map over the last few years,” said Lucchesi.
Lucchesi is also an assistant fire chief in the City of Newburgh.
His position in Beacon is part time.
