Clarkstown and Orangetown police are stepping up their patrols Thursday after a series of flashing incidents.
According to police, a flasher exposed himself at three different spots in Nanuet this week. Police say people have also reported a flasher in Pearl River. Flashing incidents have occurred at random spots and at random times, making the perpetrator hard to catch. Police believe they are looking for more than one suspect.
The incidents range from a man who flashed a female employee at Blockbuster in Nanuet while walking past the front window, to an actual encounter outside Beach Bum tanning salon on Route 59. There, police say, a 17-year-old was approached from behind and spun around to see a man masturbating. Police ask anyone who is approached by a flasher to call 911.
