Clarkstown parents express outrage with school board
Many parents in Clarkstown voiced their outrage at a school board meeting last night about paying legal fees for members.
Parents are upset they didn't get to weigh in on whether the district should pay the legal fees for the board president Douglass Katz and trustee Phillip Degaetano.
Some trustees want the men kicked off the Clarkstown Board of Education because they allegedly offered the superintendent Margaret Keller-Cogan a buyout without the full board's approval.
Katz says, under the law, he is entitled to the legal counsel.
The parents say as taxpayers in Clarkstown, they deserve the right to decide how district money is spent.
