A New Jersey Transit train leaving the Spring Valley station struck and killed a man Thursday.Police say 21-year-old Spring Valley resident Angel Caguana was walking along the tracks, possibly as a shortcut, when the incident occurred. Police say the train came from behind him around 8 a.m. By the time the conductor saw Caguana, it was too late. Caguana was pronounced dead on the way to Nyack Hospital.

Detectives say they hope they can get some help from surveillance cameras at local businesses as to why Caguana was walking on the tracks.
