CLARKSTOWN - Voters in Clarkstown have approved a major repair project for a crumbling elementary school.

Congers Elementary School has been closed since last August after structural problems were discovered with the gym wall.

On Tuesday, voters approved a $6.5 million bond referendum.

Nearly 6,000 people went to the polls, with "yes" votes out-numbering "no" votes by more than 1,000.

The building will be repaired and reopened once repairs are complete.
