Residents in Westchester and Hudson Valley are remembering the legacy left behind by Pound Ridge resident Dana Reeve Wednesday.
Reeve died Monday after a battle with lung cancer at the age of 44. Neighbors remember her courage in caring for her husband, Christopher Reeve, for the 10 years after he became paralyzed in a riding accident. A spokesperson for the Christopher Reeve Foundation, which Dana founded, says her work to help paralysis victims will continue.
Before her death, Reeve made arrangements for her 13-year-old son to live with friends near their Pound Ridge home. Her impact on the community and beyond is said to be immeasurable.
