YONKERS - Con Edison is among several New York utility companies that will soon be audited by state regulators.

The state Public Service Commission says it wants to make sure the utilities have enough workers to properly serve customers. The PSC will hire a consultant to look at the number of workers in field operations, customer service and other areas.

In addition to Con Ed, Orange and Rockland Utilities, along with NYSEG will also be audited.

A final report is expected by next August.
