Con Edison urges Westchester residents to conserve power
Just when most of the 11,600 Con Edison customers in Yonkers had their power restored, more outages occurred in Port Chester Tuesday.
More than 5,000 customers lost power, which Con Edison attributed to an overload of wires. After working all day, Con Ed still reported about 2,000 businesses and homes without power. On the third day of the heat wave, residents are using air conditioners and other appliances more than ever, causing a strain on power. Con Edison is urging residents to use energy efficiently and try to conserve whenever possible.
To report a power outage contact 800-75-CON-ED.
