The Conservative Party ended its convention with three candidates from Westchester and Hudson Valley taking center stage.

The party chose former Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro for state attorney general. The support is a boost for Pirro who is uncontested in the GOP nomination but is lagging behind Democratic forerunner Andrew Cuomo in the polls.

The party turned its attention to John Faso for governor and his newly announced running mate, Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef. Many believe Vanderhoef?s moderate stance is a good counterpoint to Faso?s more conservative views.

Former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer was excited to get the Conservative nomination over K.T. McFarland for senator. Spencer says he knows he has an uphill battle against Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY). The Republican Convention will take place next week.
