White Plains police say a cancer-stricken mother and her disabled daughter both committed suicide so one would not live without the other.
Police say they were called to a North Broadway home Sunday after a family member received an e-mail about the plan, but they arrived too late.
Cops say they discovered Nejla Akkoc, 71, and Ayshe Akkoc, 31, both dead with plastic bags over their heads.
White Plains Commissioner for Public Safety David Chong says that anyone considering suicide should reach out for help and that there are people out there willing to listen.
