Cops compare notes on Airmont robbery
Four suspects in a robbery and chase that ended with one of the men jumping off a bridge may be responsible for other local crimes, police said Monday.
The Bronx men face charges of kidnapping, eluding police and robbery. Authorities say they tied up workers Sunday at an Airmont Applebee's and threatened to kill the employees before stealing money.
The suspects led authorities on a high-speed chase on the New York State Thruway that ended on the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey. One of the men jumped off the bridge and is listed in critical condition at a local hospital. Another suspect tried to jack a car.
The suspects were all eventually arrested.
News 12 Hudson Valley has learned the men may also be behind a similar robbery last week at a Tarrytown T.G.I. Friday's. Tarrytown and Ramapo police are comparing notes on the crimes.
Records show the men have multiple felony arrests and convictions. There's no word on when the suspects will be returned to face charges in Rockland County. They will first face charges in New Jersey.
