Cops probe shooting at Newburgh Sweet 16 party
Police say two people were hospitalized after shots rang out during a Sweet 16 birthday party in Newburgh over the weekend.
According to authorities, the shooting happened at the Elvedge restaurant late Saturday night, where about 150 guests were celebrating. They say the party got out of hand when dozens of people allegedly showed up uninvited.
Police say 23-year-old Christopher Garcia and a 16-year-old boy were shot outside the restaurant, but are expected to be OK.
Cops say they are questioning a person they believe is the shooter, but no charges have been filed.
