Police in Rye Brook euthanized an aggressive coyote this morning after two separate attacks on people in the area yesterday night.
Cops found the aggressive coyote near Eagles Bluff, where a 14-year-old boy managed to escape being attacked last night. Police say he hit the coyote in the face after it approached a group of children around 7 p.m.
A few hours later, a 2-year-old girl was attacked near her home on Hillandale Avenue while under the supervision of her father, who was also bitten as he ran toward his home after rescuing his daughter.
Police are unsure whether the euthanized animal was involved in either of the reported attacks. Rye Brook police are scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon at the Rye Brook Village Hall.
