GOLDEN'S BRIDGE - Cleanup is underway after a fire damaged part of the Golden's Bridge firehouse.

The four-alarm fire broke out Monday morning and destroyed the second-floor workout room.

Officials say a faulty electrical connection sparked the massive fire.

Fire commission chairman Ed Brancati says the first concern is to be operational as quickly as possible.

Brancati also says that contrary to some reports, the station's fire alarms did go off. He and a volunteer firefighter were in the building when flames ignited.

Officials say they are not sure how long it will take to rebuild the firehouse. They did add that insurance will cover most of the cost.
