The remnants of the storm that has devastated the South dumped heavy rains on the region today, and local Department of Public Works crews were out afterward to pump out flooded roadways and clear storm drains.

Rockland and Orange counties were under a tornado watch earlier today after meteorologists spotted three funnel clouds in the area. Although tornadoes never touched down locally, some school districts took precautions by prohibiting students from leaving buildings.
Instead of tornadoes, torrential downpours thundered down on the Hudson Valley and several notorious roadways experienced flooding, including the New York State Thruway in West Nyack.
