Investigators say the grisly murder of an Ossining grandmother was solved Monday with the arrest of the victim's 26-year-old daughter.

Police say Patricia Mery, 59, had battled her daughter Anne Trovato for more visitation with Trovato's 3-year-old daughter. About three months before the murder, Trovato had left her mother's home and moved to Pleasantville with the girl. According to police, Mery and Trovato were frequently at odds over how much Mery should be seeing the girl. Police say they were called to Mery's Ossining home on four separate occasions after the women's arguments got loud and heated.

Mery taught Spanish and had spent more than 30 years in Westchester County schools. Her body was discovered in her home on Mother's Day. At the time of her death, she was working as a teacher at Westhill High School in Stamford, Connecticut. Trovato, of Pleasantville, is being charged with second-degree murder.
