Chardon is accused of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child. (1/14/14)

WEST NYACK - A Nanuet man is behind bars this afternoon, accused of exposing himself and performing lewd acts near young children at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack.

Police say 22-year-old David Chardon targeted victims during the busy holiday rush.

Investigators believe Chardon went to the mall on at least three separate occasions last year and exposed himself in front of young children. In one incident, he was captured on surveillance video.

Chardon has been charged with felony sex abuse, public lewdness and endangering the welfare of children.

He is currently being held at the Rockland County Jail on $25,000 bail, and is due back in court tomorrow.
